This term Room 8 have been writing Haiku Poems based on Fireworks. A Haiku Poem originates from Japan and consists of 17 syllables.
The first line has five syllables, second line seven syllables and the third line has five syllables.
Over the last week, Room 8 has been writing Cinquain Poems on our very famous celebrity dog "Tosca". Tosca starred with her owner on the double episode of Down Size My Pet and Down Size Me (owner). It was wonderful to meet Tosca and she got a very warm welcome from the children and staff at Glenbrae. We thank Megan very much for bringing her in.
A Cinquain Poem is written like this:
Line 1:
one word
(subject or noun)
Line 2:
two words
(adjectives) that describe line 1
Line 3:
three words
(action verbs) that relate to line 1
Line 4:
four words
(feelings or a complete sentence) that relates to line 1
Line 5:
one word
(synonym of line 1 or a word that sums it up)
